Karim Benzema Gives Support to France in Semifinals
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema confirmed his support for the France national team before facing Morocco in the 2022 World Cup semifinals in Qatar.
France will face Morocco in the 2022 World Cup semifinal match which will be held at Al Bayt, Al Khor, Thursday (14/12) early morning WIB.
Benzema is absent from strengthening the French national team at the 2022 World Cup due to a thigh injury in the final training ahead of kick-off in Qatar.
However, the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner, who has returned to the Real Madrid training center, wrote a message of encouragement to the French national team via his Instagram account on Sunday (11/12).
"Come on, two games to go. I'm rooting for you, come on," said Benzema.
France is just two steps away from winning back-to-back World Cups. However, France now needs to work even harder as they must overcome the hurdles of Morocco becoming the first African team to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals.
France was able to get through the World Cup group phase with a record of two wins and one defeat. France has qualified for the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup as Group D winners.
Then France successfully beat Poland in the round of 16 and ensured qualification for the top 8. In the last eight France managed to beat England.
While Morocco managed to qualify for the round of 16 with the status of Group F winners. Morocco successfully won two wins and one draw in the group stage.
Then Morocco beat Spain on penalties in the round of 16. Morocco then tackled Portugal with a 1-0 win in the last 8.
