Argentina vs France is the Best World Cup Final of All Time Football History
Argentina won the 2022 World Cup after dramatically beating defending champions France on penalties. By the end of extra time, the score was tied at 3-3.
Argentina always excels first, but this advantage can always be chased by French star, Kylian Mbappe, who scored three goals.
When there was a penalty, Argentina scored four goals, while France scored two goals. The Argentina national team had to wait 36 years to lift the World Cup trophy.
The last time they won was in 1986 in Mexico, thanks to the great contribution of the genius player Diego Armando Maradona.
This is the third trophy for Argentina. Two others in 1986 and 1978. This time, a major contribution was made by one of the best players of all time: Lionel Messi.
This PSG club player was named the best player in the 2022 World Cup tournament, which was held in Qatar.
Commentators call this the best World Cup final of all time.
Prior to the final, the theme of the lively conversation was: who will lift the trophy in the end.
The World Cup final between Argentina and France took place at the Lusail Stadium, Qatar, Sunday (18/12), at 22.00 WIB.
Messi, 35, has won a record seven Ballon d'Or - an award given to the best player in the world - but he has never won the biggest honour, the World Cup.
"People say France is the favourite, but we have the advantage of having the greatest player of all time," said Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
“We always like to hear that our opponent is the favorite because we don't feel superior or inferior to anyone.
"But, as I always say, we have the greatest player of all time. And with a good defense we have many chances to achieve our goals."
France manager Didier Deschamps captained his country to World Cup glory in 1998 and then, as coach, he led his side to glory in Russia four years ago.
He said: "I know Argentina, many people around the world, and maybe some French people, hope that Lionel Messi can win the World Cup, but we will do everything to achieve our goal."
